Lauren & Matt | A Spring Engagement Session in Oxford, Mississippi

Photographing a lovely couple in the rain has always been on my wedding photography wish list! I am so happy that Lauren suggested that we keep the engagement shoot on the scheduled day and just take photos in the rain if it were to actually rain. Lauren & Matt both attended Ole Miss (Matt attended for undergrad before attending Law School at Loyola in New Orleans), so it was quite natural that the first part of their engagement session be held on the campus of The University of Mississippi. When we first started, dark clouds appeared, so we quickly took photos at the Lyceum on Campus. As soon as we were finished, the light spring rain began and we immediately brought out the super cute Kate Spade umbrellas that Lauren had for a photoshoot at the “Walk of Campions” arch!

After leaving Ole Miss campus, we headed to Rowan Oak for the second part of their engagement session. This was my first time going to Rowan Oak and it is absolutely beautiful! I am so glad Lauren picked this location for the second half of the engagement session! Lauren and Matt wore the cutest attire for their shoot which paired well with the amazing location. With our Mississippi weather, we were able to get shots in the rain and without the rain. You could actually see the light rain falling towards the end of the shoot! I definitely look forward to photographing Lauren & Matt’s winter wedding in December at The Mill at Plein Air!
